Haircon Booth

HairCon is a major international event for hairstylists hosted in London, UK, making it a key opportunity for Vagaro to establish a bold presence in a new market. The goal was to design an immersive booth experience that aligned with the event’s festival theme, drew attendees in, encouraged meaningful engagement, and introduced Vagaro as a modern business management platform for hairstylists, without relying on traditional, sales-forward tactics.

  • Lead Designer, Art Director & Project Manager

My role included defining the overall experience, pitching the concept to executive leadership, designing, art directing and project managing across multiple teams. I collaborated closely with vendors and event partners to bring the space to life at scale.

  • Create a concept that brought together Haircon’s festival theme, beauty industry culture, and Vagaro’s software into a unified visual experience.

A major challenge was executing a large-scale, immersive booth remotely. I worked closely with a UK-based team and vendors across time zones, designing for a physical space I couldn’t be onsite to experience.

  • The final booth became an immersive destination that encouraged engagement and social sharing. A two-part experience—featuring a 3D festival environment with subtle nods to the hair industry and a vibrant, diverse series of concert-style posters highlighting real Vagaro customers, beauty industry trends, and Vagaro software features.

The booth attracted 200+ potential and existing customers, resulting in 30+ on-site signups and upsells, strengthening brand recognition and momentum in the UK market.

The Festival Environment

I worked closely with our 3D designer, providing creative inspiration, layout direction, animation guidance, and leading multiple rounds of review. The environment was designed to feel immersive and playful while still supporting conversations, demos, and brand discovery.

Concert Posters

A central feature of the booth was a collection of festival-style concert posters designed to function as both immersive decor and intentional storytelling moments. Highlighting UK-based businesses and Vagaro software features.

Collaboration was key for this project. To ensure the posters felt authentic and diverse—not overly uniform—I assigned poster design across a team of designers, intentionally encouraging a wide range of creative styles. I contributed designs myself while also leading reviews, providing feedback, requesting revisions, and approving final artwork to ensure cohesion within the broader visual system.

Because I was collaborating with a team in the UK, clear visual documentation, 3D mockups, and detailed direction were essential to ensure the final build matched the creative vision.

Every design decision considered how the booth would be experienced both up close and from across the show floor.

The final booth stood out as a high-energy, experience-driven destination that encouraged organic engagement and social sharing.
