Scm Brand identity
Safety Compliance Management (SCM) and Hazmat School (HMS) are long-standing leaders in safety and hazardous materials training. I led a brand refresh to modernize their visual identity while unifying the two companies under a cohesive system—respecting a legacy that has been in place since 1991.

The primary challenge was merging two established logos—one for Safety Compliance Management and one for Hazmat School—into a single, unified identity without losing brand recognition or credibility.
In addition, the company had an extensive icon library used across training materials that needed to be redesigned to align with the refreshed brand while remaining clear, functional, and scalable across many course types.

I led the brand strategy and visual identity refresh for Safety Compliance Management, redesigning the primary logo system for both SCM and Hazmat School and unifying the two brands into a cohesive, scalable identity.
As part of this work, I introduced an expanded color palette to evolve the brand into a more flexible system, and refreshed the iconography used across training and course materials to improve clarity while staying true to the company’s established legacy.
Safety Compliance Management and Hazmat School previously existed as two separate brands, and the goal was to unify them under a single, cohesive logo.
The main challenge was evolving a decades-old identity while preserving its most recognizable element—the diamond shape inspired by hazmat placards—and ensuring the refreshed brand still felt credible, authoritative, and familiar to existing audiences.
Logo Redesign
To support the company’s training offerings, I redesigned the icon system used across educational materials, creating a cohesive set of icons that clearly differentiate course types and align with the refreshed brand identity. The new system was designed to scale seamlessly across presentations, print materials, and digital platforms, bringing clarity and consistency to how the company communicates its offerings.
